Newest Purchase

As of Friday, December 7th, we are homeowners of a house that was built in 1918 in Stockton!  It is an American Four Square home.  Stockton doesn't have the best track record and has been on Forbes most miserable city list more than once.  It is where we grew up and where a lot of our family lives.  This is our diamond among the rough:

I will post some before pictures later, the ones I have aren't very good.  I hope to take more of each room empty.  We will have to update all of the rooms in the house.  It is 4 bedrooms with a den, 2 bathrooms, an unfinished full basement, big backyard, and a pool.

My 2 cents about home buying:  Buying a house is no joke.  It's stressful, painful, and not fun at all.  I hope to not have to do it again for a VERY long time.

I am very happy to have a house that I can make changed to myself and put our personal touches on it.  One thing we looked for when searching for a house was that it was not a cookie cuter house and didn't look like the neighbor's houses.  This is definitely the case with this house.

We will be moving in the 22nd, so I will post more pictures then!  Can't wait to get started.  Until then, I will post some inspiration pictures and ideas for some rooms..
